The Pen Friend Club latest album is called “Leader and Son.” It was released on September 7th 2022 and is their first album with totally original songs since previously they sang cover songs. It was group effort to complete this album with Yuichi Hirakawa, the band’s writer, members Rie Nishioka and Rika also wrote songs. Vocalist Megumi, who joined the band in 2020, participated in her first album. Youth Yamada lives in New York and Kotaro Hirota, who lives in London, wrote the lyrics in English, created a modern contemporary sounding album. The new album is unique because it combines a British sound with West Coast rock and soft rock from the mid-1960s to early 1970s. Highlights of the new album are the songs: 1. Mind Connection 2.
